Samit Sharma

Samit is a renewable power entrepreneur with more than two decades of experience in renewable power development, power generation O&M, infrastructure projects, power equipment manufacturing etc.  Previously a registered Professional Engineer in Ontario & an elected Board Director of the Canadian Wind Energy Association. Before founding Gaia Power, he has worked as a  Project Engineer with General Electric - Alstom, Design Engineer with Brandt, & Plant Engineer with Saskatchewan Power.

He did Mechanical Engineering from India, and a Master's degree in Industrial Systems Engineering from University of Regina. Followed by an MBA at Queen’s University, where he won Queen’s Entrepreneur Award on his business plan, which culminated in the formation of Gaia Power upon his graduation in 2002.

Featured in numerous articles & media, he is an avid reader, loves hiking, & is passionate for impactful public interest volunteering.

Reshma Sharma

Reshma is a kindhearted, empathetic & gregarious person, who always finds the good in people. She is a people person & a relationship builder, and in the past has worked in public relations at Genesis PR (part of Burson-Marsteller), United Way, and Ontario early childhood education center. 

She did her education in English, Textile design, and early childhood education.

She volunteered at Canadian Blood Services, is a dedicated Cross-Fitter, loves organizing events, looks for opportunity to celebrate life's small & big moments and is a great cook of any cuisine with many life-long friends to boast.

Raina Sharma

Raina is a seasoned commercial banker, freelances at Carleton University's Innovation Hub as Lead Investment advisor for SME's. She has worked over two decades at Business Development Bank of Canada and the Bank of Nova Scotia, supporting over thousand SMEs with advice, commercial financing and meaningful connections to assist their growth and profitability.

She did Commerce degree from India and Master's in Economics from the University of Regina. She has completed Level 1 and 2 offerings for Board of Directors Governance Leadership program by the Council of Canadian Innovators (CCI), Harvard Business online certificate on Lead with Finance and Alternative Investments, the Common Earth Level 1 and 2 on systems learning and climate change.

She has volunteered as BDC Women Entrepreneur lead, Orleans Chamber Board, ICOBC Board, Women business network, Ottawa Board of Trade etc
